Consortium for Street Children

The Consortium for Street Children (CSC) is the only global network dedicated to ensuring that the voices of children in street situations are heard and their fundamental rights respected. The alliance brings together more than 130 community-based organizations, national and international non-governmental organizations, researchers, advocates and field practitioners working in 135 countries. The FAAI has been part of the CSC for many years and has joined it in advocating for the rights of children in street situations.

In its advocacy work, the network has led a global campaign to obtain authoritative UN directives stating that children in street situations have the same rights as all other children and advising governments on how to take action accordingly. Its efforts culminated in 2017 in the adoption by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child of Comment No. 21 on Children in Street Situations.
